Who we are
ThunderKats is a skater-owned and family-run skate shop rooted right here in the heart of Lexington, KY.
Founded by Chelsea, a registered nurse with a heart for the community, and her husband Billy, a lifelong skateboarder who grew up ripping at Woodland Skate Park, ThunderKats is the perfect blend of passion and purpose. What started as a shared dream between a nurse who believes in supporting youth and mental wellness, and a skater who knows the power of the board, has now come to life at 227 Woodland Ave.
We opened ThunderKats to give back to the local skate scene that shaped our story — creating a space that’s more than a store. It's a hangout. A creative hub. A launchpad for new skaters. And a shop where you’ll always find quality gear, fresh decks, wheels, and tees — hand-picked by people who actually skate.
